BRAND SPOTLIGHT: The Vegan Glow – Cruelty Free Korean Skincare
We’ve recently had the opportunity to test out some skincare products from the brand THE VEGAN GLOW and want to share our thoughts on it with you!
Their company ethos is “Inspired by nature – Enhanced by science” and we couldn’t agree more, we were very interested in their simple formulations but wondered if they will actually do the job since they were such gentle skincare products but we were pleasantly surprised.
First up is our thoughts on THE VEGAN GLOW MILD FOAM CLEANSER, all their ingredients in their line are awarded green safety levels by the EWG (Environmental Working Group) and with a pH level of 5.5 it really is perfect for even the most sensitive skin types. We loved that their was no fragrance as we’ve tried some cleansers and however much we liked it the smell was at time overwhelming.
The Vegan Glow Mild Foam Cleanser comes in simple packaging, it really is no fuss and what you see is what you get we quite liked the minimalist approach. It comes in a 100ml tube and the texture is a clear gel type that lathers up nicely for a mild cleanser since chemical surfactants lather up more than natural ones, another plus point for us. It’s very gentle and does not strip the skin, it doesn’t remove stubborn makeup but a double cleanse can remedy that, it worked very well with our Banila. Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm and face felt refreshed and soft!
We definitely recommend this cleanser to anyone who is geared towards vegan and clean skincare, especially those with hyper-sensitive skin. Also extra marks in our books for being unscented and pH balanced!
We followed the THE VEGAN GLOW GOOD MORNING CREAM, following in line with the simple packaging as like the cleanser, it also comes in an airless pump which is far more hygienic than a jar! We liked how it was easily distinguishable with the icon of the sun on the top cap so you won’t mistake it for The Vegan Glow Good Night Cream which looks identical.
Enriched with cacao seed butter that high in antioxidants, which help fight free-radical damage to the skin and Panthenol (Provitamin B5) that improves skin hydration. This day cream protects your skin against moisture loss while providing nutrition and hydration. It has a interesting texture, at first it applies on like a cream but the more you massage it in, the texture turns to a gel-like form with water droplets that really hydrate the skin. We loved that it was lightweight and didn’t leave a tacky feeling, although for very dehydrated skin types you would probably need a heavier moisturiser or add a couple drops of facial oil.
To end the day we finished with The Vegan Glow Good Night Cream it’s very similar in texture to the day cream but it’s much more rich, it also has Centella Asiatica and Madecassoside on the ingredients list, so it also provides a soothing sensation and calming function.
We love both the creams but the Good Night Cream topped it for us! Out of all three products this was our most fave! After two weeks, our skin looked plump, hydrated and elasticity had improved. We also liked that it didn’t leave us with too much of an oily feel in the morning like some night creams do. Definitely one for our Holy Grail shelves!
